And on another note...

I was able to free a trapped bird from our bird feeder today. The poor little thing somehow got into an enclosed part of a three-part feeder. One part had been broken long ago by an over zealous raccoon trying to scoop out the seed.
I think the little bird got under the slot area of the broken side and could not get out. {sigh}
As I approached, he/she flailed wildly against the side just knowing that there was a "Big Human" coming to crush him.

I quickly and gently lifted the metal lid off and away he went to the nearest branch. His little birdie heart was probably still racing for the next several minutes.

How like that little bird we can be sometimes. We get ourselves into a pickle of some sort and flail away trying our hardest to get out of it, thinking all the while, "I'm in such big trouble here!"... and we are fearful to tell God what we've done. (as if He doesn't know already, yah!)... when we finally do turn to Him and the answer to our pickle comes as a direct result, we can look back and see that He had us in His view all along, and a simple solution to boot, had we but just taken it to Him to begin with.

Anyway, freeing the little bugger made my day & just helped get me into a better mood knowing I could help in some small way, one of God's own.

Hope ya'll have a good day. And no, I'm not a southerner...I borrowed that phrase from my southern friend, shirley, who has officially adopted me as one. :-)
